Sun Hoodies & UPF 50

What does UPF 50 mean?

UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) measures how much UV radiation gets through a fabric. A UPF 50 rating means the fabric blocks about 98% of UV rays, letting only around 1/50th through. It's the highest standard rating for sun-protective clothing.

How is your UPF 50 rating verified?

Our sun hoodie fabric is certified UPF 50 by our manufacturer.

What's the difference between UPF and SPF?

SPF is for sunscreen and measures protection from UVB rays on skin. UPF is for fabric and measures protection from both UVA and UVB rays. The big perk of UPF clothing: it doesn't wear off, sweat off or need reapplying every two hours.

Does my kid still need sunscreen?

Yes, on any skin the hoodie doesn't cover, like faces, hands and legs. The hood adds coverage for the head and neck, and many parents tell us it replaces a sun hat, but sunscreen on exposed skin is still a good idea.

What are the sun hoodies made of? Are they safe for kids?

They're made from 100% polyester that's lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking, so kids stay cool and dry while they run around. Our sun hoodies are CPC certified, meaning they meet U.S. children's product safety standards.

How do the sun hoodies fit?

They fit true to size, so order your kiddo's usual size. Kids' sizes run from 0–6 months through YL (12). The cuffs are snug so sleeves stay put during play, which can feel a little fitted on our youngest adventurers.

Do you make sun hoodies for grown-ups?

We sure do! You asked, we listened. Many of our kids' prints come in women's and men's sizes so you can match your tiny adventurer.

How do I wash my sun hoodie?

Machine wash cold and hang or lay flat to dry. Skipping the dryer keeps the fabric and prints looking fresh for longer.

The Daily Rumpus Set

What is the Daily Rumpus made of?

The jacket and shorts are made from tough, lightweight nylon taslon with a certified PFAS-free water-repellent finish. They're built for mud, movement and wearing on repeat.

Is the Daily Rumpus safe for kids?

Yes! Beyond being certified PFAS-free, the Daily Rumpus went through additional children's product safety testing to make sure it's extra safe for little ones.

Is it waterproof?

It's water-resistant, not waterproof. It handles drizzle, puddle splashes and wet grass like a champ, but it isn't made for a full downpour.

How does the Daily Rumpus fit?

It runs slightly large, so there's room to grow (and to pass it down). It's available from 6–12 months through Youth Large.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash cold and hang dry.

What does "imperfect" mean on some pieces?

Imperfect pieces have small cosmetic flaws that don't affect how they wear or perform. Instead of tossing them, we sell them at a discount. Imperfect items are final sale.

Custom "tiny" Sweatshirts

How do I personalize a sweatshirt?

Pick your kiddo's passion from the design options on the product page (tiny skier, tiny camper and more), choose a size and add it to your cart. We'll make it just for them.

How long do custom sweatshirts take?

Each sweatshirt is made to order and ships within 3–5 business days, plus shipping time.

How do the sweatshirts fit?

They run small, so we recommend sizing up, especially if your kiddo is between sizes. Sizes run from 0–6 months through 5T.

What are they made of?

A super soft, lightweight interlock fabric that's 95% organic cotton, dyed with water-based dyes. Designs are applied with CPSIA-certified heat transfer vinyl, and the sweatshirts are made in BSCI-certified facilities and CPC certified.

Can I return a custom sweatshirt?

Because each one is made just for your little one, custom and made-to-order sweatshirts are final sale. If something arrives damaged or wrong, email us right away and we'll make it right.

Shipping

How fast will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 2–4 business days. During launches, holidays and sales, please allow 5–7 business days. Orders placed after 1:00 pm EST ship the next business day at the earliest, and we don't ship on weekends or holidays.

How long does delivery take?

We ship with UPS. Once your order ships, estimated delivery times are:

  • Standard: 3–5 business days
  • Priority: 2–3 business days
  • Express: 1–2 business days
Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! Standard shipping is free on U.S. orders over $75 to the 48 contiguous states. Orders to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and APO addresses have a shipping fee.

Do you ship internationally?

We do. International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes or tariffs charged on delivery.

How do I track my order?

You'll get a shipping confirmation email with tracking once your order is on its way. It's a separate email from your order confirmation. Tracking can take up to 48 hours to update.

What if I order a pre-order item with in-stock items?

Your whole order ships together once the pre-order item is ready. Need the in-stock items sooner? Email us and we can split the shipment.

My package was lost, stolen or damaged. What now?

Email us at hello@shopraisewild.com and we'll help you file a claim with the carrier. Please keep all packaging and any damaged items.

Returns & Exchanges

What's your return policy?

You can request a refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your order, or store credit within 30 days. Items must be unworn, unwashed and in original packaging with tags attached. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility and is deducted from your refund. See our full refund policy.

What can't be returned?

Sale items, imperfect items, gift cards and custom or made-to-order pieces (including our "tiny" sweatshirts) are final sale.

How do I start a return?

Email hello@shopraisewild.com with your order number. If your return qualifies, we'll send a return label and instructions.

Can I exchange for a different size?

Yes, within 30 days. Email us to request an exchange for the same item in a different size. The fastest option is usually to place a new order for the size you need and return the original.

My item arrived damaged or wrong.

We're so sorry! Please look over your order when it arrives and email us right away with photos so we can make it right.

Raising Wild, Responsibly

How does Raise Wild think about sustainability?

We want kids to grow up loving the outdoors, so we try to tread lightly on it. Here's how:

  • Made to last and hand down. Durable, high-quality pieces built to survive outdoor play and be passed to the next kiddo, in timeless designs that don't go out of style.
  • One outfit, many adventures. Versatile pieces made for everyday wear and outdoor play, so you need fewer separate outfits.
  • Better materials. Organic cotton sweatshirts with water-based dyes, and a certified PFAS-free water-repellent finish on the Daily Rumpus.
  • Made to order. Our custom sweatshirts are made on demand, so we don't overproduce.
  • Nothing wasted. Pieces with small flaws are sold as "imperfect" instead of being thrown away.
  • Low-waste shipping. Compostable mailers instead of plastic, recycled packaging and shipping materials, and recycled hang tags.
  • Responsible factories. Our sweatshirts are made in BSCI-certified facilities.
